Frequently Asked Questions

Why a progressive roll-out?

To make sure we're offering you the best possible experience with our app, Walk Today is currently doing a progressive roll-out in the West Island. Releasing our app in one small area will facilitate the ironing out of wrinkles before opening out to the entire Greater Montreal Area with a sharp and flawless experience for all.

You live in the West Island? Click here to start getting rewarded for walking. Outside of West Island? Leave us your details We'll save your postal code and let you know as soon as we're available in your sector. Rest assured we're doing our best to arrive fast...

Nothing in life is free. Where's the catch ...you're going to sell my data to so-called "partners"?

We're glad you asked! Because we've been thinking that since day one of our creation! So let's get the privacy part out of the way: No personally identifiable data is shared, sold, traded, or bartered with anyone. We essentially require 2 things to serve our missions: being able to read your position when you're searching for activities, and reading your Google Fit/Apple Core Motion steps when you are participating in an activity.

Our business model is based on inciting people to move more while rediscovering their neighbourhoods and shopping at their local stores. What we get from it is simple: a fraction of the retail cost of rewards goes to Walk Today!

We believe in thriving local communities. If you're looking for online big box coupons, you're out of luck. But if you want to discover some amazing local shops and encourage your community while meeting your health goals at the same time... then you have to have Walk Today. There's simply nothing like it!

Who can use Walk Today?

Pretty much anyone! Obviously, you must be grown-up enough to be an actual consumer who happens to shop and buy in stores.

Our mobile app provides you with the extra encouragement you need to stay on track with your health goals. Whether you are walking with friends, out with your running club, dancing the night away, baby strolling, window shopping, dog walking or hiking you can be earning exclusive rewards that can be redeemed at your local retail stores!

As part of our progressive roll-out, Walk Today is currently available to Android users only. Stay tune for the iPhone release coming very soon!

Do I need a credit card?

No. There are no in-app purchase nor are we a payment processor. All you're collecting are Walk Today virtual coupons to be scanned at your local participating store at the time of redeeming.

Is the app ad-ridden?

No. There are no ads for two good reasons: 1) Walk Today is 100% dedicated to supporting local retail partners, and 2) this would be in direct contradiction with our core values if you got spammed by ads every time you happen to be interested in something within our app.

Where is Walk Today located?

Walk Today is proudly designed, engineered and operated right here in Montreal. You can throw almost anything at us... we speak French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Kirundi, and Urdu!

How great is the app?

In fact it's even greater than that! ;) More seriously, Walk Today is in its infancy with a platform we consider to be pretty cool for a first-version product. You'd like to comment on your experience, or would like to share some ideas? We'd love to hear from you at hello@walk.today
